Omero Client Instructions

Download the 5.0.6 version of the client.

Install and configure Prerequisites

You will need Java JDK 1.6 or higher prior to running the Omero Insight client. JDK downloads can be found here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

Install Omero

Unpack the install file. The omero client requires one small configuration change prior to running.

Replace the file /config/container.xml with a replacement file found here (extract the contents first):

For Windows: http://omero.hirnetwork.org/omero_windows_config.zip

For Mac http://omero.hirnetwork.org/omero_windows_config.zip

Starting Omero

Execute the Omero Insight application. For Windows Users, if you have a 64bit version of windows installed, run Omero.insight_64.exe, otherwise run Omero.insight.exe.

Configuring Network Connections and Logging In

After completing these steps, click apply. Proceed with logging in using the credentials given to you by the HIRN BC.
